A brief on Apple:

Apple was founded on 1st April 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne to sell the Apple Personal Computer kit which was marketed as the first complete personal computer. The Apple II soon followed with a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive and interface. VisiCalc, the first 'Killer App' made inroads into the business market and Apple made further progress with the Apple III Desktop System in 1980 which competed directly with IBM and Microsoft products. Apple experienced severe internal corporate struggles throughout the 1980s/1990s which culminated in Jobs leaving the corporation. His return to power saw Apple's company image and brand reinvigorated and has brought consistent success from the early 1990s until today. Apple continue to compete with Microsoft and lead the way forward with their 'Microsoft Friendly' OS X 'Snow Leopard', and the ubiquitous iPod, iTunes and iPhone products. As their 1.5 million dollar, Ridley Scott directed '1984' Television advert in 1980s stated, Apple will always 'Think Different'.

In 1999 Apple released the first version of its OS X desktop and server products, and in 2006 began replacing the Motorola G5 processors with Intel standard architecture, keeping them up to speed with Microsoft hardware. Apple have also recently released the thinnest notebook in the world, the MacBook Air, alongside their usual iMac and Macbook range. We have also seen Apple successfully enter the mobile phone market with the iPhone, representing a significant push forward into the business phone market with its innovative touch screen interface and thousands of business related "Apps" (or Applications).
