A brief on Microsoft:
Microsoft was founded in 1975 when Bill Gates developed BASIC interpreters for the ALTAIR 8800 System and by the late 1970s they had set up their first international office in Japan. Microsoft dominated the Home PC market in the mid 1980's having developed the Windows line of Operating Systems from 1982. Microsoft's original mission was "a computer on every desk and in every home, running Microsoft Software". Microsoft not only provide Server and Desktop Operating Systems but have also gone on to Hardware such as the XBox and Microsoft Mouse among other products within the TV Industry, most notably MSNBC Cable Televison.
In 2007/2008 Microsoft released its Next Generation Vista operating system as an update to Windows XP, expanding on their Business, Virtual and Security technologies vastly upon earlier releases, however it was generally accepted to be a disappointing release. The much anticipated Windows 7, released in 2009 has quickly become recognised as faster and slicker than Vista, with much of the user friendliness of Mac OSX.
